Seeking OT Network & Control Systems Engineer
Qualifications
Required
• B.S. Engineering plus 5 years’ applicable work experience, or combination of education and relevant work experience
• Strong proficiency with routing, switching, network hardware, physical cabling (e.g., copper and fiber optics) and network management in an Industrial Control System (ICS)/OT production environment
• Proficiency with communications configurations and protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, OPC)
• Familiarity with Cybersecurity concepts and requirements
Desirable
• Strong proficiency programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred) and HMIs (GE iFIX, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform preferred)
• Knowledgeable of Electrical Protection Relays (SEL, Multilin, etc.)
• Knowledgeable of Historian systems (Canary, PI, iFix, etc.)
• Solid grasp of control panel and field wiring diagrams
• Knowledgeable of external notification systems (text, email, mobile app, etc.)
• Familiarity with Fieldbus communications protocols
Responsibilities
Required
• Performs ICS/OT network assets lifecycle assessment and analysis
• Designs, implements, troubleshoots, and maintains resilient Industrial Control System / Operational Technology network
• Configures and deploys network hardware including routers, switches, and security appliances in an OT / ICS environment
• Specifies and implements standard operating system workstations, and server operating system software builds and hardware
• Attends field verification and user requirements gathering walkdowns
• Contributes to and participates in client training
• Executes field start-up and commissioning, including support of troubleshooting activities
• Provides best possible response after hours support for internal/external clients as required
• Works with applicable Senior Engineering Lead(s) and Project Manager(s) to ensure quality of deliverable, budget adherence, etc. Keeps project leadership informed of progress, issues, need for change order, etc.
• Travel +/- 35% with willingness to travel via air
Desirable
• Participates in the development of logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and functional narratives
• Participates in the development and/or review of network architectures, control panel design packages, electrical schematics, conduit & cable schedules, and associated E&I package deliverables
• Develop and test PLC/HMI programming
• Executes factory acceptance testing
