Manager IT Infrastructure Network

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and support of IT infrastructure networks, including LAN, wireless, WAN, SD-WAN, cloud, and voice. This involves translating business requirements into network solutions and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Handle all aspects of employee management, from recruitment and performance evaluation to resource allocation and professional development, to foster a motivated, skilled, and high-performing team.
  • Supervise Managed Service Providers, maintaining productive relationships with onshore and offshore resources to ensure service delivery meets organizational needs.
  • Responsible for P1 and P2 assistance and escalations
  • Plan, scope, and execute technical projects, aligning all stakeholders across the environment to ensure timely completion within budget and scope.
  • Lead technical programs, establishing frameworks and procedures to optimize execution and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to executives and stakeholders, ensuring they understand IT strategies and issues clearly.
  • Develop and monitor success metrics, track solution performance, and prioritize work to ensure ongoing alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage all aspects of budgeting, from development to management of annual budgets (both capital and expense), and planning/forecasting future budget needs.
  • Oversee the strategic alignment of system specifications, personnel requirements, and project schedules, ensuring the effective utilization of IT resources.
  • Collaborate with other IT management teams to evaluate requirements and determine the best technical solution for business initiatives, enhancing cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensure team adherence to all technology standards and procedures and regulatory compliance, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Monitor networks for performance and resolution of production incidents, which may require 24 hr./7 days a week coverage.
  • Drive continuous organizational improvements.
  • Ensure SLAs are defined and monitored to ensure agreements are met.
  • Maintain regular communication with team members, fostering open dialogue and promoting a positive team culture.
  • Review and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Manage multiple business initiatives of high complexity (complexity defined by size, technology used, and financial complexity)
Requirements
  • 10+ years of relative technical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, including:
  • Innovatively developing solutions: Demonstrated ability to conceive and implement creative solutions to address complex business issues, utilizing technology to optimize operations. 
  • Ensuring high service availability: Proven experience in designing and implementing robust IT systems that minimize downtime and eliminate single points of failure.
  • Working with Managed Service Providers: Extensive experience in liaising and coordinating with MSPs, optimizing the value derived from both onshore and offshore resources.
  • At least 8 years of managerial and leadership experience, showing the ability to lead high-performing teams in an IT environment.
  • Extensive experience in IT engineering and operations, demonstrating a strong understanding of the practical application of IT systems and networks in a business context.
Skills:
  • Profound understanding of enterprise networking: Demonstrated proficiency in the design, implementation, and management of local area networks (Switching, Routing, VLANs, Firewalls), wide area networking (Routing, SD-WAN), and wireless networking.
  • Expertise in network monitoring tools, specifically SolarWinds, and the ability to use such tools to identify and resolve network issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cloud technologies (GCP, Azure, AWS), including migrating systems to the cloud and managing cloud-based services.
  • Solid grasp of network security principles and systems (Firewalls, NAC), and the ability to ensure that all network activity complies with relevant security protocols.
  • Strong understanding of voice telecom
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex technical information to a diverse team and facilitate effective collaboration Ability to analyze and research current and new technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, showing a methodical approach to diagnosing issues, formulating solutions, and executing remedial actions.
  • Experience in presenting technical issues and strategies in a clear, concise manner to non-technical leadership team.
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Certifications are not required but are a plus.  (Examples: GCP Cloud, CompTIA, CCNA, VCTA-NV)
